Pete Flom, SHOP Home Mortgage Vice President, has been in the mortgage industry for the past 22 years. He started his business career as the founder of Fabri-Graphics, a screen printing company located on the East side of St. Paul, MN for 13 years. Pete began his mortgage career with Homeowners Mortgage in July of 1992, and has been with the company through the changes in ownership, which is currently owned by MidCountry Financial of Macon, Georgia.
His duties began as a retail loan originator. Pete became a leading originator within the company as an Owner-Builder Construction Loan Sales Representative while the company was actively involved in that line of business. Throughout the 9 years of that business channel, he helped over 500 families achieve home ownership on a national scale. He was also the Wholesale Construction Loan Channel Manager until becoming a Wholesale Account Executive in June of 2011.
Pete’s experience in the mortgage field enabled him to assist the Wholesale Channel Partner’s in all aspects of Third Party Origination functions such as customer expectations, compliance and training in the seemingly ever changing mortgage environment. Through this experience, Pete also attained certification as a FHA 203(k) Rehabilitation Loan Continuing Education Instructor for The Minnesota Department of Commerce.
Pete graduated from Harding High School in 1972 and went on to study at The University of Minnesota. He has been on the Board of Directors of The Rush Lake Improvement Association, and also involved in helping homeowners repair and update their homes through Rebuilding Together Twin Cities volunteer program.
